Our Mission
We exist to welcome
people into a personal
relationship with Jesus Christ,
encourage them to grow
in their discipleship, and equip them to share this
ministry of grace and love
by serving others.
Fund Raising
A portion of our Mission statement reads “We EQUIP them to share this ministry of grace and love through serving others”. This is carried out by many people and ministries through several projects. Wouldn't it be wonderful if our annual budget supported these missions? The reality is that we fall short, making it necessary for ministries to raise funds to subsidize their goals.
The Vision Board has been working to set up fund raising guidelines. We believe the sole purpose of fund raising at Grace Lutheran is to further the mission work at the local, national, and international level. We want to ensure that fund raising activities support the vision statement, align with committee and organizational goals, preserve congregational relationships, compliment general financial efforts, and protect the tax status of Grace. Participating in fund raising should provide opportunities to serve others with dignity and satisfaction. We also want events to succeed, without compromising another ministry’s fund raising efforts, and that the congregation supports these projects without feeling inundated.
By establishing fund-raising guidelines, the church staff will measure all requests with the same criteria. We began the process by reviewing how other churches handle fund raising. Then we thoughtfully began writing our own. Before adopting a policy, the church staff will seek input from each group such as Youth, Grace4Tanzania and the Women’s ministries. We hope to establish a policy that is fair and true to our mission statement.
