Fast…Easy…Safe...Free

These are reassuring words in today’s society and they describe Simply Giving, the electronic method of giving to Grace. What could be simpler than that!

Did you know?

Increasingly, consumers are choosing electronic payment methods—cash and checks now account for only 45 percent of consumers' monthly payments, down from 57 percent in 2001 and 49 percent in 2003.

Checks now account for less than half of consumers' monthly bill payments—only 49 percent—down from 72 percent in 2001, and 60 percent in 2003.

Online bill pay is experiencing a huge increase in consumer usage—from 8 percent of monthly bills paid in 2001 to 24 percent in 2005.

For many of us, it just makes sense as we’ve grown accustomed to using the internet to shop, plan vacations, pay bills and just do life! So, we’d encourage you to look into Simply Giving, and make your giving fast, easy, free and safe!

Why do we give?

The first is that God has created us in God’s image. God’s love is made known to us through the giving of the life of the Savior Jesus Christ. We give, in part, because it is in the nature of healthy human beings to want to give.

We give out of gratitude for what God has done for us in Jesus Christ. We do not give in order to get God’s love in Jesus but because we have already received it. We give cheerfully because we give gratefully.

We give in order that the ministry of the Gospel through the Church might grow. The message of God’s love for us in Jesus Christ changes lives - but only when people hear and feel it.

Paul tells the Corinthian Christians much the same thing: “Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver" (II Corinthians 9:7).

Share your thoughts about these phrases: “You can buy happiness” and “Money can get you anywhere you want to go.”

Martin Luther said that “There are two conversions that must take place in everyone’s life. The first is of the heart. The second is of the pocketbook.
