Private Lessons
(Open to youth-adult)
Individualized instruction in instrumental and vocal disciplines. Call for information and availability.
Group Lessons
*These classes are FREE to students enrolled in Private Lessons.
Group Y
(Open Ages 3 to Middle School)
Cost: $40 per month
Group A
(Open High School to Adult or instructor recommendation)
Cost: $40 per month
These groups are exploratory in nature. Students will learn a broad base of introductory theory, musicianship, music history and explore a variety of musical instruments including the voice. Orff Instruments will be introduced in the Y Group.
Choral Series
GMA Caroling Choir
(Open to High School—Adult)
Performances to be announced
Seasonal repertoire, both sacred and secular will be prepared and then performed during the advent season both within the church and the community. May include playing basic instruments. Experience in part singing is helpful.
Cost: $90

GMA Madrigal Choir
(Open to High School—Adult)
Hear ye, hear ye. Royal or peasant. This is an era of musical magic! Come prepared for making music that will lift your spirits and bring joy to those around you. May include playing basic instruments. Possibility of costumes will be discussed at the first class. Experience in part singing is helpful.

Musicianship Series
Musicianship Basics
(Open to High School—Adult)
Theory and analysis, ear training, sight singing, rhythm reading, basic keyboard performance as relating to these skills.

Sight-Singing
(Open to High School—Adult)
For those wishing to improve their sight-singing abilities. Don’t just follow those notes “up and down” anymore, but learn how to accurately reproduce notes on the page into sound. Great for hobby, choral and solo singers alike.

Theory Review Class
(Open to High School—Adult)
Took music theory a few years back, buy don’t remember all the details? Why not take a refresher course to sharpen those theory and analysis skills. Focus will be on common practice era music, but if participants demonstrate a high level of ability and interest, the course may include late romantic harmony and an exploration of 12-tone and atonal techniques.

History Series
Vocal Music History Seminar
(Open to High School—Adults)
Explore the history of western vocal music (including art song, opera and modern vocal works) in short, era-based sessions. Attend the whole program, or pick and choose the time periods that interest you most. Key composers, artistic movements, and works will be discussed. If participants are interested/able, an art song performance component may be added to the class.

Performer’s Series
Group Voice Class
(Open to High School—Adults)
For those who enjoy singing, but may not be ready for private instruction. Sing group songs and solo selections while building up your confidence within a supportive, low-pressure environment. Basics of good vocal production will be taught. Variety of repertoire, including folk, classical, and musical theatre will be explored. Basic music-reading skills are a plus.

Duet/Ensemble Performance class
(Open to High School—Adults)
Looking for something a little different to do?
Think two heads (or voices) ARE better than one?
Want to find your place somewhere between solo and choral performing? Let’s learn some ensemble music! Small groups will be formed, or come as a ready made group. Appropriate music will be chosen the first session. The final class will be a mini-recital.

Solo Performance Class
(Open to High School—Adults)
Ready to shine on your own? This class will take you to the next level of performance solo style. Bring your own performance piece to class and be ready share ideas and learn collaboratively. This class will hone your skills in a group setting and let you experience performance in a new mode.

Scenes Workshop Class
(Open to High School—Adults)
This is a performance-based class. We will prepare well-known and well-loved scenes from your favorite shows and operas. If class time permits, scenes will be fully staged for a final performance. If not, scenes will be presented concert style. Call for details.
