In November FMSC distributed over 4.5 million meals to starving children around the world. It’s easy to get caught up in those big numbers but God always seems to bring us back to a few children. I want to share a wonderful example of how we feed His children.

 

Northern Haiti is a remote mountainous area, with few roads, and it proves to be a difficult place to send food. Recently we received a call from Dr. Art Trask, a retired physician, who had just returned from Haiti. While he was there he heard from two missionaries, Bill and Jennifer Campbell. The Campbell’s have a small orphanage of 25 children up in the mountains and had received FMSC food for a few months. They were amazed with how healthy the children became.

 

Then a hurricane made local food unavailable and their food supply was gone. They hoped Dr. Trask could get a message to FMSC and God would find a way to help these children.

 

Normally it takes 4-6 weeks to get food to Haiti and weeks longer in remote areas. The Campbells and the children began to pray and God answered their prayers. Dr. Trask contacted FMSC. After a few calls Seedline Ministries picked up the food the same day and drove to Florida. Then Missionary Flights International agreed to fly it on their WWII-DC 3 plane headed to Haiti the next day. Most of this transportation was donated. Bill found an open road to Cap Haitien. Even though it was a six hour journey it would be worth it to get enough food to feed his 25 orphans for the next two months.

In the last six servant events at Feed My Starving Children, two hundred seventy-eight women, men and children from Grace have packaged
91,690 meals that will feed over 196 children for a year

 

Save lives by packing food
Put your faith into action … in this wonderful, local ministry … that reaches well beyond our country and our prayers. Feed My Starving Children sends
30 million meals overseas to malnourished children each year.

Join up to 60 others from Grace and package nutritious meals for hungry children around the world at Feed My Starving Children. Open to men, women and children (third grade and older with a parent). Together, we will save lives by hand-packing meals for malnourished children. Each meal has all the nutrients a starving child needs in a day and costs just 15 cents. This is a simple, yet meaningful ministry to do, one in which you know that YOU are making a difference!

 

In two hours of serving you can …

 

We’ll meet at Grace one hour before packing times to car pool. When we arrive at the Brooklyn Park location, we’ll pack food for two hours and return to Grace approximately one hour after serving.
